Lauren de Graaf - June Carter Cash, Producer, Playwright

Lauren de Graaf grew up outside of Carstairs, AB and is a proud graduate of Rosebud School of the Arts, class of 2014! There she met her Dearhearts, found an new understanding of faith, and June Carter Cash. She has been a part of some beautiful shows at Rosebud Theatre, including Cotton Patch Gospel, Chickens: The Musical, and A Wind in the Willows: Christmas in Rosebud. As Producer, Co-Writer, and an Actor of Wildwood Fire, she is grateful to present such a special story. June and Lauren are kindred spirits and even though the show has been done close to 70 times, she learns a new thing from June each show. She’d like to thank her incredible family, lovely friends, and the Good Lord above for the life she’s been given. 

 

Alixandra Cowman - Maybelle Carter, Music Director

Select acting credits include The Spitfire Grill (Rosebud Theatre), Songs For A New World (Cappuccino Theatre), Hana's Suitcase (Storybook Theatre), Chickens (Rosebud Theatre) and The Darling Family (Three Eyes Productions). Music director credits include Holy Mo (ShipSunday Productions), The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (Rosebud Theatre), and More Power to Your Knitting, Nell! (PushMePullYou Productions). She is also one third of folk trio The Dearhearts, with whom she has released an album and toured extensively across North America. Alixandra has been involved with Wildwood Fire since its humble beginnings in a tiny old church in Rosebud, and is so delighted to see this powerful story step into its spotlight.

 

Chantal Marsolais - Stage Manager

Chantal Marsolais is excited to be a part of the Wildwood Fire team. She has a Diploma in Acting for Rosebud School of the Arts, and loves exploring other elements of theatre such as design and stage management.  Her theatre credits include:  A Stranger for Christmas (Narrator, Barn Playhouse), A Midsummer Nights Dream (Titania/Hippolyta and Stitcher, Studio 359), The Masque of Beauty and the Beast (Dyspeppsia and Sound Design, Studio 359). This year she is looking forward to touring Wildwood Fire, and costume designing The Monument for Theatre of Consequence. 

 

Kelsey Krogman - Playwright

A graduate of the Rosebud School of the Arts Mentorship Acting Programme, Kelsey holds a BA in English from the University of Calgary. Kelsey has co-created Wildwood Fire with Lauren de Graaf, playing on the Opera House stage this February 13th, and has adapted The Little Prince and The Great Divorce, as well as A Midsummer Night's Dream and Hamlet from Ophelia’s perspective in Ophelia's Hamlet: in Memory of. Come back to Rosebud this summer for an up-coming adaptation of Rilla of Ingleside.

 

Brynn Linsey - Costume Design

Brynn is so pleased to have been apart of Wildwood Fire's development over the years and is excited to watch the show grow and spread across Canada. Other design credits include More Power to your Knitting, Nell! (PushMePullYou Productions), and The Darling Family: A Duet for Three (Three Eyes Productions). She is thankful to her friends, Alix Cowman, Lauren de Graaf, and Lauren Hamm for all of their efforts and support; not to mention the love and support of her mentors and family for their kindness and inspiration.

 

Morris Ertman - Director

Morris Ertman's design and directing credits include the National Arts Centre, The Royal Alexandra Theatre, The Canadian Opera Company, The Vancouver Opera, Citadel Theatre, the Chemainus Theatre Festival, Pacific Theatre, and Rosebud Theatre, among many others. He is currently the Artistic Director at Rosebud Theatre.

June Carter Cash and her mother Maybelle Carter are set to play a concert, but Johnny has landed himself in the hospital. What’s a Carter girl to do when the show must go on? With old country classics like Ring of Fire, Jackson, and Worried Man Blues, come and hear June Carter Cash and her mother Maybelle Carter sing their way through the joys and the tears that come with loving the Man in Black.
